CCAP Knowledgebase
CCAP has accumulated a wealth of resources about the strains we maintain, ranging from information on their provenance, their properties, images, genetic sequences and references from the scientific literature where the strains have been used. Accessible too from this page are methods relating to strain culture, isolation, cryopreservation and media recipes. More will be added as the resource continues to grow.
We are starting to produce and upload short videos demonstrating some of the methods and techniques we use.
Culture Media
- List of basic media used at CCAP with recipes
- Media we supply and our information on using and storing media supplied by CCAP (stocks or premade).
- General factsheet on preparing culture media
MediaDive: media recipes used to grow many of our algae and protozoa have been added to the MediaDive database developed at the DSMZ – the world’s largest collection of cultivation media for bacteria and now algae and protozoa.
